Great Adventures by Fisher Price

So my father used to work for Fisher Price, and he brought home a box of assorted loose toys from his office to give away as party favors at my sister's birthday party (she was about 8 at the time, I was 16).

In that box was a few of the Great Adventures knights, and I immediately thought they were the coolest things and snagged them for myself. I then added to that collection via the Fisher Price factory store, and later ebay, garage sales, etc. Fortunately since we live near FP's headquarters these things were everywhere and so for years you could barely hit a garage sale without finding them.

At one point I was trying to collect all of them, but I eventually abandoned the Cowboy and Pyramid lines. I had all of the Pyramid line but never really connected with it, and I'm not a Cowboy fan at all.

The knights and pirates though I love, and there are still several pieces I'm missing.

I haven't taken pictures of all the castles and boats, but I will in time. I have pretty much all of the large playsets and ships for these lines except the Robin Hood playset. Still missing several vehicles.

Also, it's very clear to me that "Star Wars Galactic Heroes" and "Marvel Super Hero Squad" figures totally ripped off this body style.

Update: 9/7

Added a post for "Outer Space Men" and added a few photos in the Romando Kinnikuman post.

Outer Space Men

I spent a lot of time staring at pictures of these online, and finally decided to take the plunge. They're based on old bendy figures from the 60's and I love that they maintain that aesthetic into these new incarnations.

I was surprised when they showed up how small they are. I am somewhat disappointed by their size, but they're still cool and I'm sure I'll be picking up the subsequent waves.

I'll also say that the figures all come in collector friendly blisters that can be opened and closed repeatedly, and that's particularly cool here because the cards are amazingly cool and look like they are straight from that 60's sci-fi mindset.

The pictures don't show all the accessories, and in some cases I removed the space helmets because they obscure the sweet head sculpts.

My collection so far:

Xodiac the Man from Saturn, Metamorpho the Man from Alpha Centauri

Astro-Nautilus the Man from Neptune, Inferno the Flame Man of Mercury

Electron + the Man from Pluto, Commander Comet the Man from Venus

Mystron the Man from Hollow Earth, Alpha 7 the Man from Mars

Individual Figures

I'm nearly done with the lines I collect now I think. I'm definitely missing Fisher Price Great Adventures, Lego Minifigures, and maybe one or two others.

I'm also going to be posting a "Wanted" thread in case someone out there has any of the pieces I'm looking for.

Lastly I'm clamping shut the Nerfuls sales offers for a while. A few individuals have purchased some of my series two figures (although for the sake of having an online resource I'm keeping the pictures up) and I want to re-assess where my collection is and what I'm comfortable getting rid of.

Individual Toys

Somewhat infrequently I will pick up one toy from a line, or a toy that is not from a line at all. Those will go below.

My collection so far:

 Giant Bebop figure.

I recently got this guy in a trade, and it's a friggin' huge chunk of vinyl. I would be thrilled to death to get a matching Rocksteady

Scud

One of my favorite comic book series. I was glad that a figure of the main character was made, though the company that made it, Shocker Toys, is somewhat sketchy and their toys are never available anywhere even though they're based in my home town. Scud here was a gift from my sister, and I'm happy to have him.
